Wu-Tang Clan

Formed in 1992 on Staten Island, New York, the Wu-Tang Clan assembled nine MCs — including RZA, GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Ol' Dirty Bastard — under RZA's leadership, drawing on kung-fu movie mythology, chess, and street philosophy to forge a singular collective identity.

Their 1993 debut "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" became one of the most influential albums in hip-hop, and RZA's unprecedented strategy of letting members sign solo deals across rival labels produced a string of classics like "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..." and "Liquid Swords," all while building the Wu-Tang Brand into clothing and beyond.

They are widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential hip-hop groups of all time, with their debut frequently ranked among the best albums in the genre's history.

The Wu-Tang Clan redefined the possibilities of the rap collective — sonically, mythologically, and commercially — leaving an indelible imprint on hip-hop culture worldwide.
