Early life

A Compton native, Lorenzo Patterson was recruited by Eazy-E into N.W.A, where his aggressive delivery anchored several of the group's most pointed verses.

Career

After N.W.A he released solo projects including "Kizz My Black Azz" and "Shock of the Hour," maintaining a hardcore lyrical edge.

Major achievements

As a member of N.W.A he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

Legacy

MC Ren is remembered as one of gangsta rap's fiercest writers and a key voice of N.W.A.
