Early life

A New Orleans native, Byron Thomas became the in-house producer for Cash Money Records and half of the duo Big Tymers with Birdman.

Career

He produced the label's signature bounce-inflected sound for Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and the Hot Boys, including the smash "Back That Azz Up."

Major achievements

He produced numerous platinum records that defined the sound of late-1990s and 2000s Southern rap.

Legacy

Mannie Fresh built the sonic identity of Cash Money, a foundational architect of New Orleans rap.
