Early life

Born in Philadelphia and relocated to Los Angeles as a teen, Ricardo Brown became a battle-tested lyricist and one half of Tha Dogg Pound with Daz Dillinger.

Career

He featured prominently on Death Row classics like Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" and Snoop's "Doggystyle," and Tha Dogg Pound's "Dogg Food" went platinum.

Major achievements

He is regarded as one of the most lyrically gifted MCs of the Death Row era.

Legacy

Kurupt brought East Coast battle skill to the West Coast sound, a respected technician of G-funk-era rap.
