Early life

Born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph in London and raised primarily in Atlanta, Georgia, 21 Savage survived a violent adolescence — including being shot multiple times — that profoundly shaped the cold, deadpan menace of his early street narratives.

Career

His breakthrough mixtape "Savage Mode" with Metro Boomin established his minimalist menace, and he reached number one with the album "Issa Album," the Metro-produced "Savage Mode II," and the joint album "Her Loss" with Drake. He has also become a noted financial-literacy advocate for youth.

Major achievements

He won a Grammy for co-writing Childish Gambino's "This Is America," scored multiple number-one albums, and built a reputation for community activism around financial education and immigration reform.

Legacy

21 Savage's understated, icy delivery became one of the most imitated styles in modern trap, while his off-mic advocacy broadened his public image.
